Yarn Bases
We start with the finest, ethically sourced New Zealand merino wool. Each base is chosen for its softness, durability, and natural beauty. Our bases are premium yarns that are gentle enough for next-to-skin wear yet strong enough for heirloom projects.
Ethical Manufacturing
Our commitment goes beyond the skein. Every Wild Woollys yarn base comes from farms where animal welfare and land stewardship are top priorities. By supporting responsible growers, we ensure every stitch you make carries a story of care and respect.
Dyeing Process
Color is where the magic happens. We dye in small batches using a careful medium/low immersion technique, creating one-of-a-kind skeins with depth, nuance, and soul. No two are exactly alike — your projects will be as unique as the hands that craft them.

All of our products are superwash merino wool and can be washed on a delicate, cold cycle in a washing machine and tumble-dried low.
For best results, hand-washing and leaving flat to dry is recommended. If you notice your garment has grown after hand-washing, place the damp garment in the dryer and tumble-dry on low. This should ensure that your project snaps back into its original shape.
While we heat-set our yarn during the washing process, you may notice some light tinting in the water during the initial wash of your garment. This is normal for some colourways.
